1. I love this! It requires no equipment, costs nothing and takes only 10 minutes and the health benefits are immense, especially with one in two of us heading towards the prospect of battling with insulin resistance! 😳
👉Walk for 10 minutes after each meal, or at least, after your biggest meal of the day.
Why postprandial walking?
Boosts metabolism
Lowers stress levels
Lowers blood sugar response
Reduces insulin resistance (With an estimated 50% of peri-menopausal and menopausal women heading towards insulin resistance this is an easy way to reduce your risk factor)
Lowers glycemic index
Promotes better sleep
Improves blood flow
This is an absolute delight during the Summer months but sometimes not possible during Winter so the next best thing is to walk before your meal (if it is still light outside) or to do some other form of movement eg pushups, squats, lunges, walk around the house etc. And no, it's not a full-on workout but gentle and intentional movement!
By the way, doing the dishes doesn’t count but hopefully someone might do them for you whilst you are walking!
2. Drink at least 250ml water first thing in the morning
Preferably add lemon juice or Lemon essential oil (culinary grade only) to boost the detoxification benefits, water aids hydration after a possible 8 hours or more without water and:

3. Have a daily gratitude practice
It’s simple - even if you make a habit of rattling off 3-5 things that went well for you whilst you are in the shower!
Personally, I like to keep a journal next to my bed where I write down what went well for me during the day.
It’s easy to get bogged down in all the things that go wrong and often this obliterates all the great things that happen!
Over time, a gratitude practice:
Increases a positive attitude
Increases happiness
Reduces materialistic tendencies
Reduces risk of burn out
Leads to lower levels of cellular inflammation
Improves resilience
Helps reduce stress
Leads to better sleep
